This post is meant to help anyone who needs inspiration to live well age well. This isn’t a generic tip, this will be customized to your priorities for your life.

Everyone wants to live well age well. But not everyone is as excited with the idea as it seems almost impossible given the negative (frail, weak, somewhat hopeless) examples we tend to think of, for someone aged. Fret not.
These 5 steps will help you change your mind and feel positive about your live well age well journey, starting today!
1. Imagine
Imagine yourself in your 80s. I know, it’s not something we inherently like to do. That’s because we don’t want to imagine ourselves with thinning white hair, wrinkled pigmented skin, frail and weak, lacking anything to look forward to in life.
But once you do, and start to think the ideal version of yourself you want to be in your 80s, it makes it clear to you what your version of ‘live well age well’ is. This is the first step to making it a reality to become the 80 year old with full and stylishly graying hair, clear yet wisely and gracefully wrinkled skin, toned and strong body like someone with 50+ years of exercises and most importantly, living life as a carefree and no-regrets person that inspires anyone across all ages.
2. List out YOUR prioritized goals
After you imagine the ideal 80 year old version of yourself, list out the aspects that will make you that. For eg. my priorities are the below. Not surprisingly, these are very much aligned with the 5 Easy Success In Progress Steps to Take Today in becoming your own role model.
Relationships – Laughters due to happy relationships with family and few key friends
Health & Wellness – Healthy and muscle-toned body
Mental – Being inspired to improve myself, and inspire others in the process
Health & Wellness – Healthy & glowy skin
Mental – Intellectual mind
Financial & Health – Be working on things that make me happy
Financial – Living in a space I love, leading a financially free life
Financial & Health – Able to do what I want, when I want
List out the aspects that matter to you. Those are your priorities. Not what your friends/spouse/parents or your society wants for you but what you want for yourself. For me, I realised these are broadly categorized into 5 aspects – Relationships, Health, Wellness, Mental, FInancial. I believe yours would be more or less similar, even though the specific goals within these aspects could differ.
3. List out the simple and actionable (today!) steps to take to make you achieve that particular goal
For my case on healthy and toned body goal, I’d put weights training 3 times a week, drink 8 glasses of water a day, walk after dinner, 4 times a week. And for my healthy & glowy skin goal, I put dermatologist treatments 2 times a year (I started doing ulthera and thermage yearly since 2019), doing face masks once a week etc
4. Execute the steps today
By starting on each step today, you are now already in the process of success by living well everyday. As such, aging well into the next 40-50 years. How can you NOT become the ideal version of your 80 year old self, if you take these steps consistently over the next 40-50 years?
5. Enjoy the live well age well process, from today
Most importantly, enjoy the process everyday. Don’t leave the enjoyment to when you’re 80. You can enjoy every step of the way into your 80s, since you’re taking intentional steps towards your ideal future self. You would feel happy as you’d feel confident of achieving your ideal role model in the process. Everday from now on.
I am thinking of my parents as I write this article. This is a Saturday morning, I woke up earlier than usual at 609am. At around 625am, my dad came out of his room, went outside to the garden and started doing his back exercises against the house concrete wall. This is something he’s been doing forever as he mentioned he’s been doing the same exercise since his 40s. He’s 82 this year. He must have had a strong back as a goal of his when he was in his 40s ◡̈
