I’ve been working on a guide to help those that are planning to quit a corporate career for the past 6 weeks. The idea inception was on 29th Jul at a cafe. I was brainstorming about our business strategies with an entrepreneur friend. I thought of creating this guide to increase subscribers, as I would be providing the guide for free for those that subscribe to my blog.
It was easy for me come up with this guide as this was what I was doing the past 2 years. Once I set the goal of quitting my job, I took those exact steps in planning out my financials, the mindset and the business idea. I took 2 weekends to finalize the idea and draft and another weekend to finish up the design and format.
Who’s the guide for?
It’s for anyone who’s seriously considering a career switch. Over the last 20 years since I started working as an employee, there were at least 4 times that I wanted to quit to do my own thing. The reason I never actually started was because I wasn’t sure of the steps. To ensure I was OK financially, that I wasn’t incurring too much opportunity cost just because I didn’t feel like working anymore. It’s timely as I am actually in the midst of the checklist myself. I have started preparing mentally for the past 2 years and financially for the past 1 year. So I think it’s useful for me to share this checklist. Since I came out with the draft, I found a few more people around me that I would think could benefit from the checklist. I’m excited to share!
What is this guide?
It’s an overall checkilst of what you should do from 3 broad aspects – financial, mindset and business for anyone who’s looking to quit a full time job to doing something else that you are passionate about, what I call your ‘ikigai business’. Is the guide free?
Yes! It’s a way for me to increase subscribers list and also to see how people benefit from my creation. I’m figuring out how I can put the pdf version out to the subscribers. I intend to launch by end of September, so please stay tuned!
